For next week’s Watch & Wonder Highlight, we’re featuring this episode of ART21: Art in the 21st Century. After watching, dive deeper with resources about diverse hands-on arts techniques and concepts from contemporary artists on PBS LearningMedia.
Art21 produces features focusing exclusively on contemporary visual art and artists throughout the world. Intimate footage allows the viewer to observe the artists at work and watch their process as they transform inspiration into art. In season 10 of Art21’s Peabody Award-winning biennial series “Art in the Twenty-First Century”, see how British history and modern upheaval collide in the works of today’s London artists. Their art rethinks the past, subverts tradition, and is as layered, diverse and dynamic as the centuries-old city in which these artists live. Artists John Akomfrah, Phyllida Barlow, Anish Kapoor, and Christian Marclay are featured in the episode, London.
