In celebration of the holiday season nearly 300 students and faculty musicians from SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music took to the stage to perform the 2023 Crane Candlelight Concert. This year, Crane welcomed Dr. Mark Kligman, a world-renowned scholar in Jewish music from UCLA. Dr. Kligman led the Crane Wind Ensemble in performing several Hanukkah Holiday melodies. Also, rounding out this year’s concert, the symphony and chorus join together to present the world premiere of “The Night Before Christmas,” a new work by Crane School of Music alum Shavon Lloyd, who is now a graduate student at The Julliard School.
Mountain Lake PBS will present the Crane Candlelight Concert this holiday week on Sunday, December 24th at 8PM, and again on Christmas Day at 1PM. Mountain Lake PBS is also sharing the concert with public television stations across the country.
