American Portrait | Mike Farrell

Mountain Lake PBS is highlighting changemakers throughout the North Country as a part of the PBS American Portrait initiative. This video features the story of Mike Farrell.

Mike is the CEO of Forest Farmers/New Leaf Syrups and talks about how the maple production operation he co-founded in the Adirondacks is now the largest in New York State and one of the largest in the world.  The maple factory is expanding with plans to hire as many as 80 full-time and seasonal workers, making it the largest private employer in the small hamlet of Lyon Mountain.
