The first phase of the long-awaited Adirondack Rail Trail opens between Lake Placid & Saranac Lake. It’s the first 10-mile stretch of the planned 34-mile multi-use trail that’ll eventually connect Lake Placid & Saranac Lake to Tupper Lake. Construction of the second phase is underway and on track to be completed later next year while the final, third phase, is scheduled to be finished in 2025.
