A Toolkit for Educators: Supporting Youth Wellness for World Mental Health Day

Mountain Lake PBS joins with public media partners across New York State to focus on youth mental health and suicide prevention.

October 10th is World Mental Health Day. Each year, around the globe, this day helps to bring visibility to issues related to mental health education, awareness, and advocacy against social stigma. This Mental Health Day, explore the Student Mental Health Matters: A Toolkit for Educators, recently launched on PBS LearningMedia.

This collection is designed to equip educators, school staff, and school mental health professionals with critical knowledge and strategies needed to support the mental well-being of their students. Featuring 50+ video-based resources and accompanying support materials – produced by mental health organizations and public media producers, and featuring New York-based mental health experts – the collection covers suicide prevention, stress and anxiety, self-harm, adverse childhood experiences, and social media.
