At Mountain Lake PBS, our heartfelt thanks go to Plattsburgh State Gospel Choir for its generous support of local public media.
Members of the choir took the stage on December 7th, filling the E. Glenn Giltz Auditorium with joyful sounds. Associate Artistic Director Andrea Ogle explained that A Soulful Christmas 2025 was designed to lift the spirits of everyone who attended. The choir had been presenting holiday performances since 2005, and the concert this year continued that long-standing tradition.

This edition of the show drew creative inspiration from the PBS series Downton Abbey. Along with spirituals and gospel interpretations of seasonal favorites, the program included several numbers crafted as an homage to the 1920s, the era portrayed through much of the television series.
Dr. Dexter Criss, Artistic Director, noted that choosing the Downton Abbey theme underscored the choir’s commitment to public media. Half of all ticket-sale proceeds were directed to Mountain Lake PBS, supporting the station’s local programming and educational outreach.
Mountain Lake PBS CEO Bill McColgan served as the guest emcee, guiding the audience through the harmonious festivities.
