A Night to Remember: My Heartfelt Experience at Timeless Broadway: A 35th Anniversary Celebration for the Lyric Singers.

The curtain has come down, but my heart is still soaring.

I had the immense joy of attending Timeless Broadway: A 35th Anniversary Celebration by the Lyric Theatre Singers, and what a magical ride it was!

The show has officially wrapped its run at Concordia Theatre, but the beautiful songs and dance numbers infused with infectious joy that the singers conveyed, will definitely keep me humming for quite awhile.

From the opening act it was clear this show was a deeply felt tribute to 35 years of music, passion, and community.

Under the masterful musical direction of founder Bob Bachelor, and co-directed by the ever-talented Cathy Burns, the Lyric Singers delivered a wonderful performance filled with heart, history, and pure Broadway joy.

A scene from Waitress the musical

We were treated to iconic songs from Mary Poppins, Chicago, Little Shop of Horrors, Waitress, and timeless gems from legends like Rodgers & Hart, Irving Berlin, and Stephen Sondheim. Every number felt like a memory shared, all brought to life by an ensemble that clearly loves what they do.

It was also of importance to note that the entire cast was dressed to the nines in absolutely eye-catching costumes for their acts.

35 years of welcoming you to their show !

Chad Linsley’s piano accompaniment was dynamic, and guest choreographer Jonathan Patterson’s fiesty staging brought such life and movement to the stage: it was impossible not to smile (or sing along just a little).

But beyond the music, what stayed with me most was the spirit of community in that room. It wasn’t just about nostalgia, it was also about connection, growth, and looking ahead with joy.

This community spirit was captured in a touching video montage presented to the attendees at the final curtain call.

Although Timeless Broadway has taken its final bow with it’s closing show on Saturday night, I highly recommend following the Lyric Theatre Singers as you won’t want to miss what they do next.

Whether you’re a longtime supporter of lyrical singing or just discovering them now, one thing’s for sure: their music leaves a mark.

Here’s to the next act. 💫
