A Night of Glamour and Whimsy: Le Bal des Tannants Raises $1,675,000 for The Children’s Hospital Foundation !

In a spectacular blend of elegance and playfulness, Le Bal des Tannants for The Children’s Hospital Foundation marked the commencement of Montreal’s spring social season with resounding success.

Held on Friday, May 10th , the event saw a gathering of over 700 enthusiastic guests at Starlink Aviation in Dorval, united by a common cause: the health and well-being of young patients at The Children’s.

The evening was not only a visual feast of glittering ball gowns and sharp tuxedos but also a display of charming mischief.

The dress code, “glamorous with a touch of brattiness,” invited attendees to pair their finest attire with whimsical accessories—sticky lollipops in updos, eye-catching sunglasses, Hawaiian shirts paired with polka dot bow ties, and delightfully mismatched socks and shoes.

This playful twist symbolized the lively spirit of children, reminding everyone that “a bratty kid is a healthy kid”.

The grandeur of the event was matched by its noble purpose.

Le Bal des Tannants successfully raised an astonishing $1,675,000, which will directly benefit the Healthy Kids Fund.

These funds are earmarked for the purchase of high-priority medical equipment and the support of initiatives designed to enhance the quality of care for patients at The Children’s.

Sandra Chartrand and Julie Godin, the evening’s esteemed Honorary Co-presidents, along with the dynamic Partnership Committee led by Véronique Black, Sharon Stern, and Jamie Silver, orchestrated a flawless event.

Their dedication and vision ensured that the night was not only memorable but also profoundly impactful.

As guests walked the red carpet, leading into the elegantly decorated ballroom, they were greeted with an atmosphere of sophistication laced with a hint of playful mischief.

Paul Chacra’s 1945 Band brought everyone to the dance floor while DJ Sandy Duperval kept spirits soaring with her rhythmic beats up until the wee hours of the morning.

Tables were laden with cute, white tigers statuettes and musical instrument clad angels on pillars, that highlighted the tasty menu of land and sea platters by Beatrice catering …

The air was filled with anticipation and joy, a testament to the community’s unwavering support for The Children’s.

Heartfelt speeches were given by two very special young ladies – both patients at Le Children’s, interviewed by the ever charming master of ceremonies, Ben Mulroney.

Le Bal des Tannants for The Children’s showcased the best of Montreal’s philanthropic spirit, blending tradition with a modern twist, and proving once again that when the community comes together, extraordinary things happen.

The funds raised will make a tangible difference in the lives of countless young patients, ensuring they receive the best possible care.

As the evening drew to a close, the sentiment was clear: it was a night to remember, not just for its glamour and whimsy, but for the significant strides made in supporting The Children’s.

Here’s to the health and happiness of our kids, and to many more nights where elegance meets playful rebellion, all in the name of a good cause.
