From July 26 to August 4, the fields are open for visitors, and we were lucky enough to catch the sunflowers in full bloom. If you’re looking for a fun and picturesque way to spend a day, I highly recommend a visit!
Activities That Delighted Us All
Our tour started with a tractor ride by Verger Lariviere through the sunflower fields. We were thrilled, as we loved the leisurely pace, which allowed us to take in the stunning views.
For those who prefer to walk, you may do so along the forest trails, surrounded by the peaceful sounds of nature. The numerous tables installed are the perfect spots for family picnics , the designated locations providing a lovely setting amidst the vibrant sunflowers or surrounded by greenery.
Afterward, we toured the oil mill, where we learned about the fascinating and complex process of making organic sunflower oil.
The owner Mr Janel Laplante served as our guide and was happy to share his knowledgeable and expertise in sunflower oil extraction, making the tour both educational and enjoyable.
The Sunflowers in Full Glory
The sunflowers had just started to open, and we had a spectacular view of the golden blooms. It was mesmerizing to see the flowers follow the sun throughout the day. The sheer size of some of these sunflowers was astonishing—did you know they can grow up to 4 meters tall?
Learning and Fun for Everyone
We were impressed with how family-friendly the event was. The forest rally and the presence of cute farm animals from the Rabouillere farm was a great hit with the kids on-site, keeping the little ones entertained and engaged.

We learned some fascinating facts about sunflowers:
- A Bee’s Best Friend: Bees are naturally drawn to the beautiful young, black flowers of sunflowers.
- Sun-Tracking Flowers: Sunflowers follow the sun all day long, a feature that adds to their charm.
- Towering Giants: Sunflowers can grow up to an impressive 4 meters tall!
- Nutrient-Rich Oil: Sunflower oil is a fantastic source of calcium, iron, and vitamins A and D.It also is an important source of Omega 9 and can help stabilize cholesterol levels and prevent some cardiovascular diseases.

Améroquois Organic Oils, formerly known as Huiles Champy, has done an incredible job creating a welcoming and educational experience.
Located in Sainte-Christine, just 70 minutes from Montreal, the farm offers more than just beautiful sunflowers. It’s a place where you can learn, relax, and create cherished memories with your family.
The fields are open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and there’s even a possibility of extending the event if the flowers continue to bloom.
