Celebrate Local Authors & Literary Arts With the Adirondack Family Book Festival

Come out to the John Brown Farm for the first ever Adirondack Family Book Festival!

On Saturday, August 20th, from 9:30am-4pm, join in the fun at the John Brown Farm in Lake Placid. Held outdoors and under tents, the Adirondack Family Book Festival is free and open to all.

Discover the sprawling John Brown Farm State Historic Site property while exploring children’s literature, middle grade books, and Young Adult titles through read-alouds, author led talks and workshops. A youth panel, as well as hands-on art making activities, are highlights you won’t want to miss!

Newbery and Caldecott honorees, New York Times bestsellers, and authors and artists from diverse backgrounds will meet with fans of all ages throughout the day. Adirondack authors include Kate Messner, Maxwell Eaton, Amy Guglielmo, and Benjamin Giroux. For a full list of authors and illustrators, and up-to-date schedule, visit the festival’s website.

Can’t wait for the festival to begin? Watch interviews with some of our favorite Adirondack authors—Kate Messner and Amy Guglielmo—from our ongoing interview series, “Author Visits.”
