1980 Winter Olympics 40th Anniversary Celebration

A dozen stars from the 1980 U.S. Olympic Figure Skating Team returned to Lake Placid to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Winter Games. Jack LaDuke interviews Olympic Skater Scott Hamilton.

While back in Lake Placid, Scott Hamilton took to the ice on the Olympic Speed Skating Oval for a fundraiser event to help fight cancer. Hamilton’s CARES Foundation partners with Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer to raise funds nationally, with some of those proceeds also donated to local cancer clinics. Of the 60-thousand dollars raised in the region for Hamilton’s CARES Foundation, about one-third of that will remain in the Adirondacks and Adirondack Medical Center’s Merrill Center to help patients who have to travel for cancer diagnosis or treatment.
