Plan a Field Trip to the Mountain Lake PBS Station!

Want to give your classroom, 4-H club, homeschool group, or scout troop an interesting behind-the-scenes look at television and media production? Plan a field trip to our Plattsburgh, NY station today!

Learners of all ages from the Adirondacks, Champlain Valley, and Montréal can take a guided tour of the Mountain Lake PBS studio, meet and greet with staff members, and engage in a variety of hands-on experiences.

Tours run between 30 minutes to 1 hour long. Ample parking is available in the station lot.

What Does a Field Trip Include?

  • Take a guided tour of the production studio.
    Learn about what we do in the studio, from filming interviews, debates and fundraising specials, to the types of equipment you’ll find there.
  • After the tour is time for hands-on fun!
    Try out the cameras, microphones, and other studio equipment. Practice anchoring your own show or direct the shots from the control room.
  • Join a sit-down Q&A session with a member of our Production Team.
    Learn about what it’s like to be a producer, editor, or on-air host.
