In forestry the expression "good things come to those who wait" can be taken quite literally.  In 1916 an unknown individual planted a stand of white pines in the Huntington Forest just outside Newcomb, New York. Suny's College of Environmental Science and Forestry owns the property today, and they are using the site to investigate the economic feasibility of farming white pine on nutrient rich sites where hardwoods would normally grow.  For more information about the research visit: www.esf.edu/fnrm.
