North Country March

Nearly 700 people in Plattsburgh joined in solidarity marches across America to coincide with the Women’s March on Washington, the day after the inauguration, as a deeply divided nation sends its new president a message about protecting women’s rights. Another march was also held in Lewis, New York, at the grave of Inez Milholland, who led one of the first marches on Washington in the nation’s history in 1913. That march was the beginning of the suffrage movement to give women the right to vote.
