The North Country Cultural Center for the Arts (NCCCA Arts Center) is seeking talented regional artists to donate artwork for its annual “Arms & Legs” auction and fall fundraiser. The NCCCA is in need of artwork in the form of creative and/or upcycled furniture, original artwork and also quality antiques. The deadline for submission information is October 20th and items must be delivered to the Arts Center by November 1st, 2012.
“This year we are shaking things up a bit,” says Leigh Mundy, NCCCA Board President. “We’re asking artists to make an exceptional piece of creative furniture or to donate an original piece of artwork. We’re also asking community members to recycle artwork or antiques from their personal collections.
Mundy continues, “The auction is a great way for people to donate artwork that isn’t being used and to replace it or find new art at the auction. And, any artist or community member donating a piece of art valued at $100 or more will get free admission into the event.”
“The Arms and Legs auction is such a wonderful and fun-filled event,” says Janine Scherline, NCCCA Executive Director. “The region’s most talented artists are celebrated and the attendees have a great time during the auction outbidding one another for fabulous pieces of art for a worthy cause - quality arts programming at the Arts Center!”
The annual Arms & Legs Art and Antiques Auction will take place on November 10th at the Auditorium at City Hall with Steve Martin as auctioneer. Note: The deadline for submission information is October 20th and all artwork must be dropped off by November 1st to be displayed on preview at the Arts Center until the event. Surrogate bid forms will be available for anyone who wants to bid but cannot make the event.
The Arts Center is open to visitors Tuesday through Friday, 10am - 5pm and Saturdays, 10am - 4pm. For ticket information visit our website at: www.plattsburgharts.org
