Meet Author Jan Stanley
Jan Stanley of Plattsburgh, New York taught seventh grade English for many years and was honored by the New York State English Council as an Educator of Excellence. In retirement, she continues to pursue her interests in nature photography, graphic design, and children’s poetry. Her photographs have been the inspiration for her children’s books which capture the beauty of nature and the North Country. She collaborated with illustrator Tamia Gastio on four books, and they received three grants from the NYS Council of the Arts to create the Whimsical World, an interactive exhibit for children based on them.
