Plattsburgh may be a small town in upstate NY, but it holds a large amount of diverse students from different walks of life. What if we shed light on our similarities? What if we shed light on our uniqueness? Sometimes as human beings we tend to only see the exterior of another person. We tend to forget that we all walk with a soul. The strongest, most confident person in a room may also be the most sensitive , and the gentlest person in that room may also have the strongest heart.
Meet Souadou Camara, senior at the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. As a former international student, and now simply a resident student, she is here to tell stories. Born in Bangkok, Thailand and originally from Conakry, Guinea, Souadou has lived in four different countries; but now calls the United States home. Growing up in a different culture, and seeing a different way of life, she still feels human beings are all the same and need to embrace each other’s uniqueness to understand one another.
Stay tuned for her bi-weekly interviews, “The Melting Pot of SUNY Plattsburgh” depicting the lives of the different humans of SUNY Plattsburgh.
