NCCCA Arts Center Announces Outdoor Summer Concert Series Line-Up
New ‘Live ‘n Local’ Concert added to Jumpin’ in July
The North Country Cultural Center for the Arts (NCCCA Arts Center) is excited to announce the line-up for its upcoming outdoor summer concert series. The series, known as Jumpin’ (in July) takes place on Thursdays from 5:30-7pm in July. The 2013 season begins on July 11th and culminates with a special Live ‘n Local Concert on Friday, August 2nd.
“Jumpin’ is one of our signature events, along with the Mayor’s Cup festivities, during the summer,” says Janine Scherline, NCCCA Executive Director. “The performances are free and open to the public, and so is our front lawn where the concerts take place!”
Scherline continues, “We are especially excited to add a performance with local bands. ‘Live ‘n Local’ is a joint effort between the Lake Placid Center for the Arts and the NCCCA to feature local musicians in Plattsburgh and in Lake Placid.”
The line-up for Jumpin’ includes a mixture of music ranging from soul and blues to retro funk. The series begins with the Dave Keller Band on Thursday, July 11th, followed by Midnight Spaghetti on July 18th and the Henhouse Prowlers on July 25th. It culminates with the Live ‘n Local concert on Friday, August 2nd featuring ‘Eat.Sleep.Funk.” and “Zip City Blues” performing in conjunction with the First Weekends festivities for August.
The Jumpin’ concerts will be held on the main lawn in front of the Arts Center on Thursdays, starting at 5:30pm. The Live n’ Local concert in Plattsburgh will begin at 7pm on Friday, August 2nd at the NCCCA. The second Live n’ Local concert will be held on Saturday, August 3rd at the LPCA starting at 8pm.
