The Will Rogers' Senior Outing Club's August event will be a trip to the Clintonville Pine Barrens in Keeseville, NY. This 900 acre property is protected by The Nature Conservancy, and it is a pitch pine-heath barren that sits on a sand delta that was deposited 12,000 years ago by glacial melt water. We will take a mile stroll through the preserve that is an easy walk. Birds, wildflowers and trees will be a focus of the walk. The Saranac Village at Will Rogers' Senior Outing Club is open to all seniors (55+) interested in venturing out for moderate activity at various locations around the area. Activities are held the last Tuesday of every month. The club's mission is to "offer seniors the chance to enjoy outdoor adventures with companionship, safety and fun". This program is open to the public. Departure from Will Rogers will be 10:00 a.m. There is no fee for the walk. Lunch will be held at the Pleasant Corner Restaurant immediately following the walk ($3.95 and up). Please dress for all kinds of weather, wear sturdy footwear and bug spray is suggested. In order to attend, reservations must be made. Please RSVP by calling Debbie Kanze at (518) 891-7117.
