Students from Karen Boldis’s Paul Smiths College Recreational Program Planning class will hike with seniors and introduce them to the park.
According to their website, “John Dillon Park’s main goal is to make the natural landscape of the Adirondacks available to everyone, especially people with disabilities. This was the vision of International Paper’s retired Chairman and CEO, John Dillon.”
The Saranac Village at Will Rogers Senior Outing Club is open to all seniors (55+) interested in venturing out for moderate activity at various locations around the area. Activities are held on the last Tuesday of every month. The club’s mission is to “offer seniors the chance to enjoy outdoor adventures with companionship, safety and fun.”
This program is open to the public and there is no fee for the tour. Brunch will be at a Tupper Lake Diner for those who wish to attend. The departure time will be 10:00 a.m. from Will Rogers. In order to attend, reservations must be made. Please RSVP by calling (518) 891-7117.
