The Frontier Saxophone Quartet with guest artist Jane Boxall, percussion, will perform a recital on Sunday, October 30, 2pm in Krinovitz Recital Hall in Hawkins Hall on the Plattsburgh State campus. The quartet consists of Gary Scavone (soprano), Todd Pray (alto), Linda Sullivan (tenor), and Daniel Gordon, (baritone). Scavone teaches music technology at McGill University in Montreal; Pray is a music instructor for Peru Central Schools; Sullivan retired this past June after serving 33 years as director of the Plattsburgh High School Band; and Gordon is Professor of Music at Plattsburgh State. The program includes works for saxophone quartet by Pierre Max Dubois, Jean Rivier, and Pedro Iturralde. Daniel Gordon will then perform two works for alto saxophone and percussion by David Maslanka and Dinos Constantinides with guest artist Jane Boxall. The full quartet will join Boxall in the final work on the program by Janne Ikonen. The concert is free and open to the public.
