The regatta, an annual event on spectacular Lake Champlain, takes place throughout the day on July 13, followed by the annual BBQ and Awards Ceremony at the Plattsburgh Boat Basin, and the festival features the ever-popular City-sponsored fireworks show in downtown Plattsburgh that same night.
But that’s only part of the festivities. The annual Mayor’s Cup Boat Parade of Lights, a competition to see who best decks out their decks for a nighttime cruise on the lake, launches the festival the night of July 11 at the Plattsburgh waterfront.
On July 12, we are thrilled by the return of the ever-popular Mayor's Cup Idol. The Mayor’s Cup music program opens with the Celtic-inflected sounds of Enter th Haggis, who will perform at the Lions Club Bandshell near the McDonough Monument on City Hall Place.
Saturday, July 13th will host a number of family and kids events including an afternoon concert by The Zucchini Brothers. Michael Blaine Master Hypnotist will return this year and start out the night's entertainment at the Bandshell at 6:30 p.m. The Gas House Gorrillas will take the stage at 8 p.m. with a brief interlude at 9:30 for the spectacular, annual, fireworks display which can be seen along the waterfront.
The weekend capper is the CVPH Mayor’s Cup Bike Ride at the Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital, starting at 8 a.m.
