The SUNY Plattsburgh Symphonic Band, directed by Daniel Gordon, will perform a concert entitled “Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue” on Tues. April 19 at 7:30 pm at E. Glenn Giltz Auditorium, Hawkins Hall. The program will consist of works by Dominic Dousa, Philip Sparke, J. S. Bach, Michael Colgrass, Johann Strauss, and Leroy Anderson, all of which relate to the concert theme. Student clarinetist Melanie Kiehl will be the featured soloist on the work by Sparke; student Kash Durham will conduct the band in the work by Bach. The 35-piece ensemble consists of SUNY Plattsburgh students and community members. The concert is free and open to the public.
