STUDENT COMPOSERS CONCERT
Students Create and Perform New Works for Acoustic Instruments
PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (April 11, 2016) – SUNY Plattsburgh students will present a performance of newly-composed works on Saturday, April 23 at 7:30 PM in Krinovitz Recital Hall, Hawkins Hall.
The event is free and open to the public.
The concert represents the culmination of a highly interactive and collaborative process, as students have worked with each other over the past six months to develop their compositions. Each composer is working in a unique style. Following the concert, the audience is invited to participate in a question and answer session with the composers and performers.
Composers include: Andrew Lower, Vihan A. Wickramasinghe (Vihan A.w), Mariela Hache Canahuate, Brian Desena, Elidia Lopez, Ryan Mahony and Dr. Bill Pfaff.
Performers include: Margali Hanson, bass clarinet/Bb clarinet, Andrew Lower, Bb clarinet, Ryan Mahony, piano, Rachel Hurtt, piano, Elidia Lopez, piano and Trevor White, flute and Bb clarinet.
