Members of the Johannes String Quartet are Soovin Kim and Jessica Lee, violins; C.J. Chang, viola; Peter Stumpf, cello, each having significant musical achievements beyond their involvement in the quartet. The program opens with Homunculus, a 15-minute work written expressly for them by world-renowned Finnish composer-conductor Esa Pekka Salonen. Also featured will be Mozart’s String Quartet No. 15 in D Minor, K. 421 and Brahms’s String Quartet No. 3 in B-flat Major, op. 67. Non-ticketed event; seating is open with a suggested donation of $15/general and $12/students-seniors. Children 12 and under attend free.
