Sembrich presents Verdi events
Celebrating the bicentennial of this renowned composer's birth
The Sembrich, located at 4800 Lakeshore Drive in Bolton Landing, continues its TITANS OF OPERA summer season with a series of Verdi-themed events.
A vocal recital performed by tenor Viktor Antipenko, winner of the 2010 Marcella Sembrich Voice Scholarship Competition, on Saturday, July 27, at 7:30 p.m. at The Sembrich. Admission is $25. Selections are colorful and dramatic, featuring operatic music by both Verdi and Wagner and songs and arias from Mr. Antipenko's native Russia.
"We're pleased to dedicate this program to the memory of former Sembrich board president David Lloyd who passed away in 2013 at age 92." says Richard Wargo, Artistic Director of The Sembrich. "David himself was a distinguished tenor and a longtime advocate for the support and advancement of up-and-coming singers such as Viktor."
