Heralded as “astounding…. An unbelievable magnitude of talent….Unique in every sense” (Athens Estia), and “Praised for their passionate commitment to every note…. Incredibly velvety tone…. And unanimity of phrasing” (New York Concert Review), the Olympus Piano Trio combines the forces of violinist Regi Papa, cellist Ben Capps, and pianist Konstantine Valianatos. Formed at Juilliard in 2010 to celebrate a passion for chamber music as well as their shared Hellenic heritage, the Olympus Trio performs a repertory of classical masterpieces and champions the music of native Greek and diaspora composers. They have performed throughout the New York City metropolitan region, as well as throughout Greece in such venues as the National Conservatory in Thessalonica, Athens Megaro Concert Hall, and Kefalonia Music Festival. In 2015 the Trio, sponsored by the Onassis and Hellenic-American Cultural Foundations, made their Merkin Hall debut (NYC) to critical acclaim. Their Hill and Hollow concert will feature trios by Rachmaninoff (No. 1 in G Minor “Élégiaque), Brahms (No. 2 in C major, op. 87), and Tchaikovsky (A Minor, op. 50). Suggested donation: $15 general; $12 students/seniors; Kids under 12 attend free.
