NCCCA Arts Center Announces Summer Youth Literary Arts Workshops
Education, Imagination, and Art Exploration for Kids Ages 6-10
The North Country Cultural Center for the Arts (NCCCA Arts Center) introduces a new summer literary arts program called Book Buddies. This workshop, designed for children ages 6-10, explores art and expression through reading, writing and illustration.
In the Book Buddies program, participants read a story as a group and then create their own tale based on themes of that book. The workshop fosters creativity and literacy development in a fun, interactive environment. Instructor, Amanda Kaufman, will lead the course.
“Book Buddies is an excellent program for kids to both hear new stories and work on developing pieces of their own,” says Emily Owens, NCCCA Education Coordinator. “With Amanda’s support, every participant will be the author of their own story!”
The Arts Center will run two sessions of Book Buddies this summer. The first session is on Saturday, June 29th and the second session is on Saturday, August 3rd. Participants can sign up for one or both sessions. Each session will run from 10:30-11:30am and the cost per session is $10 and includes all supplies.
The Arts Center is open to visitors Tuesday through Friday, 10am – 5pm and Saturdays 10am – 4pm. For a complete listing of all classes and workshops, please visit the Arts Center’s website at: www.plattsburgharts.org
