NCCCA Arts Center Announces New Dance Workshop: Tutus & Tiaras
Dance highlighted during March Workshop Mania month
NCCCA Arts Center announces an afternoon dance workshop in collaboration with the North Country Ballet Ensemble (NCBE). The program called, “Tutus and Tiaras,” is for young dancers ages 4 through 7 years.
The workshop will be led by NCBE Artistic Director Alice Schonbek, NCBE Board Member and Costume Curator Tracy Plimpton, and dancers from the North Country Ballet Ensemble. During this one-hour program, each participant will create their own tutu and tiara and use their creations as they participate in a story ballet. Participants will be able to bring their final products home with them, for use in other dance activities.
“This wonderful workshop is a first for the Arts Center and the North Country Ballet Ensemble,” says Janine Scherline, NCCCA Executive Director. “It is a great way to start of our month of workshops in March and to increase the visibility of dance in our region and especially for dance offerings at the Arts Center.”
"We are pleased to collaborate with North Country Ballet Ensemble during our March Workshop Mania Month" says Education Coordinator, Emily Owens. "This program combines visual and performing arts and would be a wonderful afternoon for young dancers in your family."
The program will take place on Saturday, March 9th from 1-2pm at the NCCCA Arts Center. The cost of the program is $10 and includes the price of all materials. Participants are requested to preregister by calling the Arts Center directly.
The NCCCA Arts Center is open to visitors Tuesday through Friday, 10am - 5pm and Saturdays, 10am - 4pm. For more information about upcoming classes, please visit the NCCCA Arts Center’s website at: www.plattsburgharts.org
