A Tribute to David Nadien 1926 - 2014
From childhood David Nadien’s life was filled with music. Given a violin at the age of three, his father was his first teacher. He made his debut with the New York Philharmonic at the age of fourteen, won the Leventritt Award when he was twenty and was appointed concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic by Leonard Bernstein in 1966.
Mr. Nadien was among the first class of students at Meadowmount in the 1940’s. This special concert is in celebration of his extraordinary artistry. Performers include Meadowmount alumni Shannon Lee, Mr. Nadien’s last student, and James Ehnes, internationally acclaimed violinist.
