The Champlain Wine Company is excited to present LADIES OF THE BEADING for exhibition in the month of September. United by the belief that there is no such thing as a “bad bead”, this show exhibits the work and artistry of ten local artists: Vickie Belrose, Alison Brown, Donna Fountain, Lynn Jock, Devin LaFave, Karen Parker, Yvette Poirier, Gale Sorrell, Laura Tetreault, and Michelle Whitford.
Over the past ten years, the group has evolved from what was initially an informal group to a cohesive collective who inspire and challenge each other to explore new avenues of creativity. This, their first gallery show, demonstrates that beadwork is more than wearable art and can include functional, ornamental and sculptural aspects.
The Ladies of the Beading show can be seen from September 2nd through September 30th at The Champlain Wine Company, 30 City Hall Place, Plattsburgh NY with the opening exhibit reception on Friday, September 2, from 5 pm – 8 pm.
30City and The Champlain Wine Company co-host local artists in their bright and inviting gallery space. Their location also hosts a visitor’s center for the Plattsburgh Downtown Association, and features local wines, art, crafts, essential oils, maple syrup, and specialty oils and vinegars from the Adirondack Coast Oil & Vinegar Co. They are open seven days a week.
