The Kaganovsky Duo will perform a concert, free and open to the public, on Sunday, July 7 at 4:00 pm at the historic Methodist Church on Route 3 in Saranac. Their program will feature music of three centuries, with works from the baroque, classical, and romantic periods, as well as a contemporary piece composed especially for them and a perennial favorite tango. Two exquisite miniature sonatas by Leclair (1697-1764) will open the concert, followed by "Gran Duo" of Pleyel (1757-1831). A highlight will be the premiere of "Saranac Sketches," written expressly for the Kaganovsky Duo by New York City composer Peter Kelsh. Rounding out the program will be "Passacaglia on a Theme by Handel" by Halvorsen (1864-1935) and "Oblivion" of Piazzola (1921-1992).
