Reviving the legacy of long-lost traveling picture-show men of yore,
Plattsburgh-based Andy MacDougall and his ‘mobile celluloid museum’
tour the North Country with 16mm film screenings of unusual,
hard-to-find cinematic treasures.
On Friday, Sept. 13th he’ll be at the Newman Center where he'll present Classic Int'l Animation Celebration, Pt. 1.
According to Andy: "Here in the era of digital inundation, it's key to remember that good-ol’ fashioned cellular animation was itself accomplished digitally, that is with digits, as in the fingers of animators whose hand-drawn wonders still generate an awe-inspiring sense of wonder that blows CGI out of the water."
The program will include a gallery of cellular animation styles from all over the world.
