The mandolin is a musical instrument in the "lute" family and is usually plucked with a pick. Originating from Italy in the 18th century, mandolins blossomed in the United States in the 1880's and continue their popularity today. In this intermediate class we assume that students have a working knowledge of the mandolin and can play chords and simple tunes. This course will teach some of the more complicated aspects such as introductory cross-picking, alternate tunings and other items upon request. This 2-day class meets on Saturdays, August 8 & 22.
Tuition $95. Member Tuition $85.
NOTE: Please bring your own mandolin.
