This reception marks the very beginning of the "Festival of Tibetan Arts & Culture of the Adirondack Coast." A special guest speaker will join us at the reception, along with thangka and woodcarver artists as well.
The month long festival will include events, exhibitions and demonstrations including an exhibition of photography, thangka, woodcarving, tattoo, and creation and ritual dismantling of sand mandala, among many others.
This multi-faceted project aims to highlight the changing life of Tibetans who have relocated during the diaspora. The festival unites a multitude of arts and cultural organizations including Mountain Lake PBS, Adirondack Center for Tibet, SUNY Plattsburgh, Plattsburgh Renewal Project, Strand Center for the Arts, and the Adirondack Youth Orchestra.
