The Last Picture-Show Man, in association with People for Positive Action and PSU's Environmental Action Committee, will present a rare Technicolor print of the 1964 sci-fi epic "Crack in the World" in the context of the hydrofracking controversy.
Post-viewing discussion will be followed by a screening of the late, great Mickey Rooney's most obscure and underrated movie, "The Magnificent Roughnecks" (1956), set entirely among oil wells for thematic relevance (however coincidental).
Showtime 7 p.m. on Friday, April 25th, at the Newman Center (90 Broad St. across from PSU's Myers Fine Arts bldg.). For more info, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Free and open to everyone, this is an all-16mm, all-celluloid event with no high-fructose digital additives whatsoever. Please help support proudly organic film preservation/appreciation.
