COOKING WITH BEANS (NOT GAS!)
Dried beans and grains create a complete protein meal for as little as 28 cents a serving but may seem daunting to many people who haven't cooked them before.
Presenters Paula Youmell, RN of Hands On Health in Potsdam and Chelle Lindahl of the Local Living Venture make it fun and easy to eat this most delicious and healthy food. They will share many secrets of the healthy and happy kitchen with participants, as well as fun ways to make beans and grains a meal your family can look forward to every night of the week!
Healthy Way health food store in the Harte Haven Shopping Plaza will be sponsoring this event. Proprietor Bing Thomas says "It just made sense to me to make this great service available for my customers, many of whom might be a little intimidated at how to cook such a basic food - that helps families really stretch their food budget, too."
This workshop is scheduled for Thursday, February 28, from 5-7 pm. There is a $15 suggested donation, $5 Students. Participants must RSVP for the exact location in Massena, NY.
