On Thursday, October 29th at 7:00 p.m., Dr. Nina Schoch, a wildlife veterinarian with Biodiversity Research Institute of Portland, Maine and coordinator for their Adirondack Center for Loon Conservation in New York, will present Conservation through the Lives of Adirondack Loons at Saranac Village at Will Rogers. This program will be an overview of loon natural history, loon research in the Adirondacks and talk about the outreach and educational programs provided.
Dr. Schoch has a veterinary degree from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, a master’s degree in Natural Resources/Wildlife Management from Humboldt State University and a bachelor’s degree in Biology-Behavioral Ecology from Cornell University. She practiced small animal medicine in New York’s Adirondack Park from 1991 – 2002, is a licensed wildlife rehabilitator and enjoys wildlife photography, paddling, cross-country skiing, quilting and knitting.
