Felt is a perfect medium to capture the essence of the Adirondacks in a landscape. In this workshop we will use natural fibers and learn a simple wet felting technique to make our felted “sketches”. You will discover the unique felting characteristics of various fibers and how to use them to their best effect: wool batt, wool roving, nepps and locks, mohair, silk hankies, silk top and silk blends, linen and hemp. Students should bring two old hand towels; all other materials will be supplied. Wear sleeves that can be rolled up out of your way to stay dry; a heavy cloth or waterproof apron is helpful too. Appropriate for all levels of experience.
Tuition $50. Member Tuition $45. Materials Fee $18.
NOTE: Please wear sleeves you can push up to class, and bring 2 Old Towels and a heavy cloth or waterproof apron.
