Join Christine Bourjade on a hike up to the summit of Algonquin where she will talk about winter safety, cairns in winter, decisions making, alpine vegetation and much more. Algonquin, while only 4.3 miles one way, is a strenuous winter climb, involving 3000ft of mostly steep ascents that test ones physical and mental endurance. Trail conditions will likely vary along the way. Weather is unpredictable above tree line requiring climbers to be fully prepared for the possibility of high winds, low visibility, bitterly cold temperatures and the use of full crampons to reach the summit. This trip is for registrants who have hiked High Peaks in the winter. Christine is an experienced winter 46er. Pre-registration is required. Call 518-523-3441 to register.
