Spend a day photographing the west central Adirondacks during the peak of color, with Carl Heilman as your guide and mentor. After meeting briefly at The Wild Center for an introduction and initial overview, the rest of the day will be spent photographing at several different nearby locations including lake and mountain vistas.. This tour will take full advantage of the fall foliage and colorful landscape. This nature photography tour is designed for those who are already comfortable with camera basics such as the relationship between aperture, shutter, and ISO settings. Most of this eight hour day will be spent outside in the field, taking photos and experimenting with photo techniques. We can carpool for anyone returning back to Tupper Lake, but otherwise it will be best to drive. Since we will be in the field most of the day, be sure to bring along food, snacks, water, and any extra clothing for the day. Also be sure to have at least one extra fully charged battery, the camera manual, and extra memory cards. One of the goals of the day is photographing the full moon in the evening sky, so we'll also find a nice location to do moonrise / twilight photos. If conditions are good, we could be photographing until 7:30 PM or later.
