A woman facing her darkest desires of the heart.. Fragmentary text and sensuality, Sarah Kane' new piece Psychose is mesmerizing!
British playwright Sarah Kane presents her captivating piece 4.48 Psychose at La Chapelle Contemporary Scenes Theater.
The play is a psychological journey that tunes into the turbulent and poetic voice of a woman whose deep desire is to confront death and embrace it as a friend.
Through fragmentary monologue, stunning stage sets, abstract visuals and sounds, the audience is transported into this tormented woman’s inner mind. The scenario is moving and fluid with a marked emphasis on the mental states of its main character; a beautiful woman who through her perceptions, thoughts and distortions of life, makes us individually ponder what quality of life really means to all of us.
The talented French Quebec artist Sophie Cadieux embodies this woman who is both dark, yet frighteningly seductive and beautiful.
4.48 Psychose is produced by Florent Siaud, a key figure of contemporary dramatic works.
