NCCCA Announces Eco-Friendly Handprinting Workshop
Styrofoam relief prints created with local artist Nadia Korths
The North Country Cultural Center for the Arts (NCCCA Arts Center) is pleased to announce the Eco-Friendly Handprinting Workshop, part of the ‘March Workshop Mania’ Month now underway. Participants will be taught how to create Styrofoam relief prints by local artist, Nadia Korths, using non-toxic inks and meaningful objects.
“We are thrilled to be working with Nadia for this workshop,” says Janine Scherline, NCCCA Executive Director. “She is a local artist known for her environmentally minded approach to creating artwork, as well as her impressive ability as a printmaker. This workshop has much to offer those who wish to learn more about the art of handprinting.”
“A great quality about this class is that no previous experience is required,” says Emily Owens, NCCCA Education Coordinator. “Nadia will help the participants create six distinct prints of their own that they can take home and frame or use as cards.”
Participants will combine intriguing objects and shapes with favorite colors at this workshop that is truly the definition of “hands-on.” The Eco-Friendly Handprinting Workshop will be from 10:30am-12:30pm on Saturday, March 16, and costs $35. To register for the class, please contact the Arts Center directly. Examples of Korths’ work can be viewed at www.nadiakorths.com.
The Arts Center is open to visitors Tuesday through Friday, 10am - 5pm and Saturdays, 10am - 4pm. For a complete listing of all classes and workshops, please visit the Arts Center’s website at: www.plattsburgharts.org
