The PBS KIDS GO! Writers Contest, a local competition designed to promote the advancement of children’s reading skills through hands-on, active learning. This annual effort encourages children in grades K-3 in the North Country region to celebrate the power of creating stories and illustrations by submitting their own original work.

Mountain Lake PBS actively partners with schools, public libraries and other literacy organizations to implement the contest. Children are encouraged to write and illustrate stories and submit them to Mountain Lake PBS, which will select winners and award prizes. A first place winner and three honorable mention winners will be selected from each grade level.
