Cinema under the stars downtown MontrealOn August 31 2012, the Montreal International Film Festival presented The Shining under the stars.
August 31. It's a warm comfortable night in downtown Montreal. After enjoying enchilladas and frosty margaritas at Les 3 Amigos on Saint-Denis street with a good friend, we head out to the Quartier des spectacles. The Montreal International Film Festival is presenting The Shining at 8:30 on the Esplanade de la Place des Arts (located at the intersection of Ste-Catherine street and Jeanne-Mance) and we are going to meet some friends to watch the classic movie together.
We get there close to 8:30. There is no place to sit on the benches installed for the occasion, but we find a little spot on the stairs of the Contemporary Art Museum. While watching the movie that I've seen so many times, I look around me. I see all the people gathered peacefully to enjoy an outdoor movie. I see the gorgeous moon that brightly light up the urban buildings. Then, I realized how privileged I am to be exactly where I was at that precise moment. Not only to live in a great city that offers so many awesome things to do, but foremost to have wonderfull friends to spend time with.
Montreal I am back in town, get ready for Sophie!
