Last Friday October 31st, gorgeous guests fully decked in elegant 1920's evening wear filled the halls of La Maison Symphonique de Montreal where young professionals, music lovers and Montreal’s young elite were treated to an exclusive VIP Phantom of the Opera evening filled with hauntingly beautiful organ music, a classic silent film, open bar, an energetic DJ and lots of candy!
The Phantom of the Opera has fascinated audiences for more than a hundred years. Monster or simply a misunderstood man, the character of the Phantom continues to be a mystical literary figure that has been represented in numerous books, films and plays.
Well known to those who frequent the Cinémathèque québecoise, William O’Meara is a master in the nearly forgotten art of providing musical accompaniment to silent films. Fully dressed to impress with a billowing cape, he was spectacular with his live organ improvisation to the 1925 silent film, The Phantom of the Opera by New Zealand director Rupert Julian.
Before and after the presentation of the concert, guests were treated to delicious cupcakes, bites and other tasty treats by caterer La Grange.
At the open bar stations, Montreal’s best Mixologist Gabrielle Panaccio worked her magic with her famous Cointreau and The Botanist Gin cocktails throughout the evening .
What was in my opinion, the ultimate Halloween soiree was graciously presented by Estiatorio Milos and hosted by the Club des jeunes ambassadeurs de l’OSM .
