Running from July 14th to the 3rd of August 2016, Montreal's largest genre film festival in North America: Fantasia Film Festival: is currently celebrating its 20th glorious edition in the heart of Montreal.
With over 130 feature films ranging from Action, Horror, Drama, Foreign, Sci-fi, Asian and Animated films and known guest stars present at this year's edition of the festival such as Kevin Smith, Marilyn Manson and Shinsuke Sato, the festival is the ideal melting pot for avid fans, industry members and stars to meet and mingle.
All you need is one day on the festival site and it becomes quite clear that the love of genre cinema is strong among the thousands of attendees, impressive cast of volunteers, programmers and loyal fans!
For those who would like to catch a film tonight (July 31st) , there will be a red carpet presentation of the latest film by Director Mike Flanagan: Before I Wake with the presence of the Director and the actress Kate Bosworth ( Superman returns and Blue Crush) for Q&A.
Fantasia's closing film: Don't Breath by Fede Alvarez on August 3rd is also one of the must attend screenings that will probably be sold out soon!

For those who would like a stunning bird’s eye view of the city. Montreal’s latest attraction: Summit Place Ville Marie has just opened its doors to the public and offers locals and tourists alike a 360 degrees panoramic view: 46 stories high from its observatory deck!
Spread over 3 floors, visitors can start their tour with a relaxed drink or cocktail on the large outdoor terrace or enjoy a hearty meal prepared by the Brasserie Les Enfants Terribles (44th floor) and then continue their visit up at the Observatory (46th floor ) and tour the interactive exhibition #MTLGO ( 45th floor) that offer 55 virtual scenes of the city.
By scanning your red bracelet (given upon entry) you can customize a personalized ‘Montreal mission’ that will encourage you to fully appreciate and emerge yourself in the city’s several attractions.
You can finish off your visit with a quick stop in the Summit’s gift store that is situated in Place Ville Marie’s shopping and office plaza, part of Montreal’s famous underground network.
Expect lots of up-coming 5to7 evenings and trendy events in this new attraction that will take the meaning of after work fun to new heights !
