Orchid ball 2016 - Reach New Summits
The mission of the YCPA is threefold: to unite, empower and propel young Asian professionals and entrepreneurs. They foster networks and create opportunities to connect, train and equip their members with the tools to exceed their potential and become leaders.
The month of May has officially been designated Asian Heritage Month by the Government of Canada. In honor of this momentous decision, the YCPA proudly hosts the Orchid Ball every May, celebrating the beauty of Chinese and Asian culture and highlighting its contribution to Quebec and Canadian society as a whole.
This year the committee has raised the bar and will invite attendees to experience the heavens with an aerial themed event held in a real-life airplane hangar at the renowned École nationale d'aérotechnique!

Accès Asie Dance Master Class with Miriam Peretz
Last Thursday’s Golestan Music and Dance concert, part of Festival Accès Asie, at Club Soda was a beautiful showcase of Afgan and Persian dances performed brilliantly by international dancer and choreographer Miriam Peretz accompanied by percussionist Ziya Tabassian, santur and dutar player Bashir Faramarzi and multi-instrumentist Efrén López Sanz .
For those who missed the concert, Miriam Peretz will host four «master class workshops» on Saturday May 28th (Full) and Sunday 29th at Studio Caravane, in the morning from 10 am to 12 pm, and in the afternoon from 1:30 to 3:30 pm.

This unique workshop format developed by Miriam Peretz, offers a full range of expression from the traditional Silk Road dances, to devotional, contemporary, and improvisational movement.

Turkish Roman (Gypsy) Dance:

(Dances of the gypsies from Turkey, more correctly known as Roma.)

Exhibition on the Promotion of Positive Body Image:
The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (MMFA) and ÉquiLibre have joined forces and expertise to increase young people’s awareness of body diversity and recognizing the many faces of beauty with a mission of fostering their sense of well-being through art.
From May 26th to August 21st, the Museum will be pursuing its commitment to the expression of differences with an educational display and a guided tour on body diversity.
The exhibition coincides with the 25th anniversary of ÉquiLibre a non-profit organization whose mandate is to heighten public awareness of the importance of developing a positive body image through actions aimed at helping people acquire healthy lifestyle habits.
Presented in the J.A DeDeve Gallery, an educational display entitled Models Wanted will present multidisciplinary projects of students from several Quebec High Schools, that explore the themes of the body that is reflected and impacted by media and trends on the perception of beauty.

Ariane Moffatt and her musicians invite you to dance outdoors on the new installation by Jean Verville architect, entitled “Plancher de danse – Dance Floor.”

Thousands of golden footsteps spill down the road in a mosaic-like floor, a tip of the hat to the many mosaics in the Pompeii exhibition. It’s FREE, so bring your friends!
