Sweetness was definitely in the air at yesterday’s much anticipated sixth edition of the McCord Museum’s glamorous Sugar Ball!
From 8 pm onwards, two thousand of Montreal’s hottest young professionals dressed in their best and headed to Griffintown’s l’Arsenal to grace the red carpet and indulge in all the delicious candy and delicacies catered for them by Montreal’s finest restaurateurs – Ferreira Café, Taverne F, Le Richmond, Milos and as always, Burgundy Lion’s tasty scotch bar… Yum!
From 8 -10 pm, VIPs received red carpet treatment and were welcomed by the catchy beats of DJ Stephane Cocke. Upon entry into the great hall, a dazzling sight awaited guests as a cornucopia of delicacies and thousands of candies were arranged in glass bowls and displayed around the room on colorful decorative tables. Gums, chocolates, gummies, sour crackles and PEZ were plentiful and definitely no one was telling anyone that they had enough sugar !
After 10pm, DJ YO-C launched the dance party as all ball attendees were treated to an open bar, a delightful photo booth display and had the chance to win several sweet surprises such as Converse classic shoes all evening long:
With over two thousand participants, this sixth edition was completely sold out and I was truly impressed by the impressive waiting list for unclaimed tickets! All proceeds of this young professional fundraiser went towards making Montreal's social history more accessible at the McCord Museum.
