Small Farm Rising is a one hour documentary produced by Adirondack Harvest and Mountain Lake PBS that invites you to explore the sustainable practices, creative business models and deep community connections of three small farms in the shadow of the Adirondack Mountains. Videographer Ben Stechschulte filmed over 120 hours of footage to capture an entire growing season.
The documentary focuses on a new generation of farmers revitalizing rural communities, stimulating local economies and restoring depleted farmland. They are producing a wide variety of specialty crops, marketing them locally, and in the process, building a community that crosses age, class and social barriers.
